Developed with input from across the province, the purpose of the Healthy Eating in Recreation and Sport Settings Guidelines is to enable those who work, participate, and support activities in recreation and sport settings to change the food environment to support eating well. Foods and beverages sold and served in recreation and sport settings do not always encourage healthy choices. Some key objectives of the guidelines are to support a cultural shift towards healthy foods/beverages, increase access and consumption of healthy foods/beverages, decrease access to and consumption of unhealthy foods/beverages.
